As distinguished as this coffee shop, Al-Shumaisi neighborhood is distinguished by being one of the first neighborhoods to appear after the demolition of the Riyadh wall. Its street was an important artery for traffic, shopping, and the beginnings of large restaurants.
The neighborhood was a group of farms, and was called Al-Shumaisi after the deacons who owned the largest areas of the farms on the southern side.
Al-Shemaisi neighborhood represented a qualitative shift for the residents of the capital to move from mud houses to modern architecture at that time. Although it became one of the old neighborhoods after urban expansion, it still maintains its historical character with its adjacent houses and the old names of its streets.
